Trustees
The Board of Trustees is a well established team of committed individuals who possess wide ranging and highly specialised business skills and expertise relavent to the organisation needs, including charity and company management, finance, homelessness issues, family and children welfare issues and business acumen.

Jean has served the organisation since it was established and as Chair since 2001. Having worked for Derby City Council Social Services for most of her working life, Jean was involved at a high level in the protection of vulnerable children. She has been involved in homelessness campaign work for over 35 years. |
Arwel Davies - Vice Chair |

Arwel became a Trustee of DHA in April 1996. His first involvement in homeless services was initially within the statutory sector as front-line manager of a 70 bed direct access hostel. Following the closure of the hostel he continued to work within the statutory sector in a regional/national capacity. In 1996 he transferred to the voluntary sector and currently works for a large support provider with interests in London, the Midlands and South Yorkshire. Arwel has area management responsibility for a diverse range of services to vulnerable people in Nottingham City, Derbyshire and East Staffordshire. |
Tony Glover - Treasurer |

Tony is a freelance corporate finance consultant, with experience of working as a consultant to various regional agencies, has been instrumental in developing East Midland Development Agency's Community Loan Fund and 'Equal' programme, as well as managing the Community Loan Fund for the East Midlans. Prior to breaking out on his own, Tony held a number of senior financial roles in HSBC bank for over 34 years, leading on corporate finance, venture capital and personal training and development. With a background of private consultancy, Tony brings a wealth of knowledge in financial planning and forecasting, major funding and business planning. |

Alan has served as a Trustee since 2003. He has a skilled background in antique clock and watches restoration, which led him into establishing a successful events management company specialising in antiques fairs. Alan was a founding member of the Rotary Club of Derby Daybreak, and has used his business and event planning skills to raise funds and organise various local charitable events. He has personal homelessness experience as a child and is passionate about services that prevent children from suffering homelessness and poor housing conditions. |
Glenda Holt |

Glenda has been a trustee since 2005 and has been keen to support the organisations' funding events and human resources function. She works as a Service Manager within the Children’s Fostering Department at Derbyshire County Council, supporting teams that provide and maintain a high quality fostering service for looked after children in Derbyshire which is able to meet a wide range of needs and promote the principles of safe care. Glenda has worked in the social care sector for over 20 years within Adult Services, Mental Health and Learning Disabilities. |
Barbara Noble |

Barbara was a Housing Officer for the East Midlands Housing Association. She has 24 years experience working for Registered Social Landlords in Housing Services, always maintaining direct contact with the general public and tenants. Barbara had experience with a broad range of clients, including homeless people of all ages, elderly people and young mothers. She has close links with a number of voluntary organisations including Swadlincote CVS and P3 and has an interest in fundraising and in staffing and HR. |
Paul Philips |

Paul became a Trustee early in 2008. After forty years in the Hospitality Industry Paul moved to Derbyshire just over ten years ago, following retirement as Chief Executive of a Berkshire based hotel company. During his career he has worked and resided in various overseas countries. Paul has a commitment to help people who are homeless or in other need, and to working with them to find ways forward from their situations. |
Jane Foster |

Jane Foster is the Regional Programme Manager for the East Midlands Joint Improvement Safeguarding and Dignity Board, with a focus on Adult Safeguarding and Quality Assurance. Jane qualified as a social worker in 1985 and has worked as a generic social worker, with older adults and as an ASW (Approved Social Worker) specialising in working with people with dementia. Jane has worked for Staffordshire County Council, Derbyshire County Council, The Alzheimers Society and The National Care Standards Commission. Jane currently holds a post with Derbyshire County Council as the Manager for Adult Social Care Training. |
